Sri Lanka Elections

The recently held presidential elections in Sri lanka was quite controversial. For the record the result was that the incumbent Mahinda Rajapaksa was relected with 60% of the vote. But his main challenger the previous Army chief Sarath Fonseka who was the consensus opposition candidate has cried foul . According to him there was large scale misuse of official machinery and that many Tamils(who were expected to vote for him) were intimidated into not voting. Now there are talks of arresting him for a possible coup attempt . The US was seen to have been supporting him from behind the scenes. Let us see what happens .
